Chapter Meeting Journal Club Information and Resources:
At many of our chapter meetings, we have a Journal Club presentation by one of our chapter members or IPs from an area facility. The person doing the journal club is encouraged to select a relevant, current article from an IP-related peer-reviewed journal and discuss the article. The presenter is encouraged to prepare a PowerPoint slide set to help convey information about the article. Commentary on how and why the article provides (or doesn't provide) useful information is encouraged. Presentations should be between 5 - 7 minutes with 3 more minutes left for interactive discussion/Q & A.
The presenter should also use the Evaluation Tool (download from the link below) as a final slide to grade and summarize the study. Please feel free to look at Journal Club presentations from past meetings to see examples. Presenters should also listen to several such presentations at meetings before doing a Journal Club talk. To volunteer to do a Journal Club presentation, please reach out to Alex Grizas at grizasa@hss.edu, the chapter president-elect, president, or any other board member. We very much welcome all IPs to participate in doing a journal club talk.
