APIC Chapter 13 Members – Mentoring Program
The 2025 APIC Chapter Mentoring Program for Peer-to-peer will run from June through December 2025, with orientations held in June.
We are looking for participants to volunteer to participate as either mentors or mentees – details of the program and expectations listed below:
  • Receive direct guidance and advice in navigating the science and day-to-day implementation of infection prevention in their first/early years of practice.
  • Participate in at minimum a monthly call with your mentor/mentee
  • Agreement to respect the time of each participant – notify in advance of cancellations or reschedule
  • Enhance and accelerate professional growth and development in the field of Infection Prevention.
  • Improve IP practice, communication, and job satisfaction.
  • Establish lifelong career connections to help reach professional goals and explore new opportunities.
  • Advance infection prevention careers; studies show that mentees are five times more likely to be promoted than those who do not participate in a mentorship program.
  • Receive tips for maximizing APIC Membership.
  • NOT A CIC PREP COURSE- but can provide resources
  • Mentoring activities and small group sessions can also be conducted virtually.
  • NOTE: Mentors participating for the duration of the program can receive IPUs.
If you have any questions, please contact Kinta Alexander at alexandk6@nychhc.org

Sign up due by Wednesday May 21, 2025

APIC Greater NY has started a small group mentoring program and through our sessions we have compiled a list of resources to help newer professionals within the field of Infection Prevention and Control. We understand that not everyone who wants to be mentored necessarily has the time to attend formal sessions and therefore wanted to share these resources that may be beneficial to all newer members of our field. Our goal of this program is to welcome new professionals to our field by providing support and encouragement to set them up for success.

We will be periodically adding to this list as new resources are identified and/or deemed helpful.

If you have questions about how to become more involved in our Mentoring programs in the future or would like to share an additional resource please email: president@apicgny.org
